Contributing to the OpenMPT wiki
Contributing to this wiki couldn't be easier:- Before you can edit, you have to register
- Once logged in, click "Edit this Page" at the top left to modify any page. The basic wiki syntax is visible to the right of the edit window.
- You can play with the syntax in the Sandbox
- Pick a section from the manual index in the left-hand menu, and get busy.
- To create a new page, simply create a link to a non-exiting page, then click on that link, add some content and save.
So don't hesitate to correct, enhance or add anything you like (including these help pages which aren't strictly a part of the OpenMPT manual).
If you need help using XWiki, see here
Basic guidelines
When contributing to the manual, please keep these guidelines in mind:- Avoid opinion pieces: keep the information factual and not overly emotional
- If you don't have time to complete an article, use the keyword "TODO:" followed by an explanation
- If you are bored, search this wiki for "TODO" and complete anything you can!
- The purpose of this wiki is documentation, so avoid using it for bug reports or feature requests. If you post those on the forum you're much more likely to get a response.
- Important: If you paste any OpenMPT source code in the wiki (probably in the developer section), state clearly that it is GPL. The rest of the wiki is under a much more open Creative Commons licence.
- TODO: Add more guidelines...
