Keyjazzing

Keyjazzing is a common feature in trackers, which allows you to audit your instruments simply by using your computer keyboard. The instruments are triggered by keys, so that each key represents an individual note. The way notes are arranged in different trackers varies. Modplug uses Q½W½E½R½T½Y… , FTII uses Q½2½W½3½E½R… (½ means there is a half note difference between these keys). So FTII resembles more of a real keyboard. Which setup is better, depends on personal preferences, but Modplug is very flexible and allows you to configure the layout any way you like. Select View-Setup-Keyboard-pattern editor-note col to access this configuration.

How to access different octave ranges for keyjazzing?

You can configure this from View-Setup-Global keys, Next octave and Previous octave.
